10 Dating Laws You Should Not Break
I wrote a thread on X about 10 dating laws you should never break.
I wanted to expand on it further in this email.
Here's the list:
Make sure your house is always clean
There’s always the possibility you’ll have a girl over if you’re on a date. Make sure your place is spotless, especially the bathroom.
Also, having a clean house is good for your mental state.
Living in filth will make you more miserable.
Have some kind of sweet white wine in your fridge
Women like sweet white wine. It’s a no-brainer to have some in stock.
Another option is learning how to make a cocktail.
Women are easily impressed if you can make a decent cocktail from scratch.
Try to know how to make 2-3 different kinds of cocktails at home.
Clip your toenails
If you’re going to be in bed with a girl, scratching her with your toe nails is gross.
Clip them.
Same with your fingernails.
There’s nothing wrong with getting a manicure and pedicure either.
If you can at a minimum get a manicure, that would be a good move.
Your fingernails are constantly visible.
Go to the dentist
You might have a great smile and bright white teeth but if she sees plaque, major turn off.
Make it a habit to care about your teeth and skin.
You need a morning and evening routine where you’re flossing, brushing thoroughly, and moisturizing.
Don’t talk about ex-girlfriends on a date
Kissing and telling is beta behavior. Never mention an ex.
In general, don’t bring up past relationships or breakups.
If you’re divorced, don’t go into detail about it in the first five dates.
“We didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things. She’s still a great person and I have no issues with her personally, we just weren’t a good match.”
Vague lines like that are politically correct.
Text less
Talk in person, not over text.
You’re not a high school girl here to have full blown conversations over the phone.
A lot of guys want to talk over text or on Instagram/Whatsapp/etc DMs these days.
You’ll stand out by wanting to actually take the interactions to an in-person setting.
Watch how much you drink
The moment you get tipsy is the moment you overshare.
Stay as sober as possible.
If you know your limit is two drinks before you start talking too much, stick to one.
If you know once you have one drink you’ll keep drinking until you’re drunk, don’t drink.
Careful with fragrances
Just because it’s a fragrance doesn’t mean it smells good.
A lot of what’s on the market smells mid.
If you’re going to over-do it, make sure it’s niche perfumery.
Niche fragrances at least smell unique most of the time.
As a rule of thumb, don’t do more than four sprays on your neck.
Never tell a girl how you feel
“I really like you” is a corny line.
Show her you like her by taking her out and giving her the occasional gift.
Verbally expressing your attraction for her is too risky of a move.
You never want to show any signs of neediness or desperation.
Don’t have her meet your friends
If your friends are all good looking high value men, and you’re not on their level, don’t bother introducing her to them.
Everyone has the potential to be disloyal to you.
Be smart and keep what’s yours private.
Sounds cynical but that’s life.
